FISHING

Flowing just a few hundred yards from Fireside Outpost, the Hiwassee River offers some of the best fly fishing in the eastern U.S. The Hiwassee is a designated State Scenic River due to its pristine scenery and is nothing short of the perfect setting for casting! Click here for more info!

FARMERS MARKET

Just a couple of miles from Fireside Outpost is one of the best farmers markets in Tennessee - the Delano Community Farm Market - offering locally grown produce, baked goods and more. In keeping with Mennonite customs, everything is produced right there at the farm with no preservatives, dyes and additives - a difference you can taste! The scenery at the farm is pretty spectacular too! The farmers market is located at 163-285 Needle Eye Ln, Delano, TN 37325.

Fireside Outpost is located on the TransAmerica Trail with miles of beautiful backroads just out the front door!

Experience the national forest on horseback with our friends at Ocoee Horseride! (If you're into horseback riding and value the preservation of the trails in our neck of the woods, please consider joining or donating to the Southern Appalachian Back Country Horsemen.)

WINE & SPIRITS TASTING

For a relaxing change of pace, head over to Savannah Oaks Winery. Less than a mile and a half from Fireside Outpost, the winery offers free wine tasting and a gift shop loaded with Amish-made butter, cheese and meats. If you're looking for a more adventurous tasting, check out Starr Mountain Distillery in downtown Etowah!

BIKEPACKING

Fireside Outpost gives you direct access to the best bikepacking routes in the region, including Three Rivers Way. We're also located on the American Trail Race bikepacking route. Check out TennesseeGravel.com for more info on regional bikepacking routes!

Located literally next door to Fireside Outpost is the Hiwassee/Ocoee Scenic River State Park, a beautiful park that hosts a variety of fun events. TRAIN RIDE

A wonderfully unique way to see the beauty of the mountains is on the Hiwassee River Rail Adventure, which takes you along the Hiwassee River and deep into the heart of the Cherokee National Forest.
